What kind of milk do you drink? I now buy 1% as my son's Dr. told me that he is at risk for heart dease so now back to 1%. When I was little we had fresh cows milk. Then whole and when my uncle had a heart attack we all started drinking 2% and now I do miss my 2% milk. But I found out that my roommate and his son don't drink it as much. My son and I still do. Skim we just can't do. I did try but ended up giving it to my nieghbor. So what do you drink?

I drink whole milk myself. I cannot stand that skim nonfat stuff. It is just like drinking colored water, there is no taste and no consistency to it at all.

Same here except I don't get sick. I just am not a milk person.
When I do drink it it has to be whole milk not the watery looking gunk.

We usually drink 2% but for baking and some recipes I use regular and then if I want to drink it I use the acidophulus milk at times because I'm lactose intolerant... But I do myself go back and for between 2% and acidophulus.

We drink Vitamin D milk, i'm not sure if that falls into one of the categories or not. I've drunk 2 % and skim, but have always been under the impression that it's one in the same. Some people can't go between so many different thicknesses of milk, but I've never had a problem with it. Maybe a stomach ache ever so often after drinking one kind for so long, but I guess that's also that I'd been drinking it so much.

Yes Vitamin D milk is whole milk. Oh no on the skim part it is more like water then anything. 1% is almost as bad but my son and I have high col. so have to drink 1%. I like 2% way better but I also like life. So giving up the 2% and working on the other things.

I've never thought that it was watered down, I drank skim for a long time, and when I did change to another type it just tasted thicker, but I never even thought it to be watered down. I guess it really was though, but it didn't bother me.
Glad that you've decided to switch for your health though, it's always good to find healthier things.

I drink very little milk actually. I have never really liked milk as a beverage. When I buy milk for me to drink it is always whole milk. I hate any that seems and looks watered down like 2% 1% etc. I buy 2% for use in recipes and for cereal etc though. I drink maybe a gallon of milk in a whole years time is all.

I can't drink whole milk anymore tastes like cream to me. As I have been drinking 2% for over 35 years so yeah whole no. I'm trying to get used to the 1% now as I told my son I would stop drinking 2% as the Dr. told my son that both of us need 1% and your Mom should really drink skim as her col. is that high. I told him to be happy with 1% as there is no way I'm drinking skim. I hope you get better soon by the way. Happy 2009.........Your friend onlydia

I grew up on a farm and drank alot of milk right from the cow....and then went to kindergarten where the milk sat out in the hallway until we were ready for a break...and by that time it was lukewarm! I don't drink any milk. I know I should but I just can't.

Oh yes I remember that. Cows milk was the best. skimming the cream off and having a cold glass of milk. I thought I was going to die the first time I had to choke down a glass of whole milk from the store. And then the 2% so we all wouldn't die of heart failure. Ok Now I have to get used to 1% for the very same reason. Give me a break the only good thing is it is cheaper then 2%. I will get used to the taste. Your friend onlydia

I don't drink as much milk as I should be drinking, but I buy 2% and Skim Milk for the household. I drink the Skim Milk and I give the 2% to the rest of the family. My husband hates anything but whole milk, but the doctor has told me that whole milk is not recommended for anyone over the age of 2 years old as it has too much fat content in it.
To me, whole milk tastes like drinking cream so I prefer to drink either 2% or Skim Milk.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I have not drank milk since birth.
I can't stand the smell of milk, though I know it is healthy for me, but I guess our family did not live in America when I was born so we never had milk, it was too costly.
My kids however, do drink milk because i want to make sure they are healthy and milk is good for the body.

I drink the watery gunk! LOL I drink skim milk. My husband still drinks 2%. He just cannot adjust to the skim at all. Once I got used to it I don't mind it at all but I'm not an avid milk drinker either. I use it in cereal but rarely just drink a glass of milk.

I can't drink skim milk I tried and I just can't. I can drink 1% and that is pushing it. My old nieghbor drinks skim and get this. He puts ice in his milk as well. ICK. All's I have to do is think of the skim and I can drink the 1% so I will be ok. Your friend onlydia. Give the dog a hug and a kiss on his head for me.

I only drink whole milk, I try to drink others, but I don't like all of the other except whole milk.
I drink milk every two to three days, I don't drink it too often and I do exercises too, so I think I am not that at risk for heart disease.

My sister kept a 2% gallon and would put 1% in it and then add powered milk. And she would slowly not add as much my brother in-law has been drinking 1% now for 5 years and doesn't know it. Has now she gets milk in bags at this one store. So she just puts it in pitcher and he still don't know. She is good got to give her that. He now drinks 1% and swears he drinks 2%. Now she doesn't even put powdered milk in it. I can tell. But now I have to get used to 1% yummy. Have a nice night

I do not know the percentage but i definitely don't drink the skimmed one. My mom does everything and i really don't know much about all these. Which one do you think is the best?? But the milk which i buy is made from milk powder which is not good for health.

Well, it all depends on the person. As I have to drink 1% because I have high colestrol and that is supose to be good for me. Whole milk is more like a milk with way more cream in it. I could never drink powered milk ever again. I have tried it.Have a nice day

We drink whole organic milk. Even though milk is really fattening it is the good kind of fat. But I really do suggest organic because of all the hormones and antibotics that are not good for your body.

We drink 2% in our family. For years I drank 1%, and actually prefer it. However, I'm outnumbered 3 to 1 in our family and can't see the point in carrying two types. After drinking the 1% for years, the 2% initally tasted like cream...but I've finally gotten used to it.

Wow that is really neat. Ok it could of been bigger. From what I got from that it is better to drink 2% or whole if your dieabetic. I can't spell that. With all the carbs in the other milk is that what I was seeing as not focusing this afternoon. You have a great day. Your friend onlydia. Going back to look one more time. And have my son come out to see.

While being lower in fat and calories, 1% milk is higher in nutrient than whole or 2% milk. Here is an interesting chart I found with the nutrients in various grades of milk. http://www.nationaldairycouncil.org/nationaldairycouncil/nutrition/products/table13.pdf (chart if non-commercial and intended for information only)

Hi, I always fortify my meals with extra protein, and for that I make my own Hi-Vi milk. I mix one cup of powdered skim milk with one quart of fresh skim milk, believe it or not doing it this way it gives me 70 grams of protein- a whole day supply of first-class protein in single bottle. I keep it in ref. For my whole day intake of protein.Happy my lotting
