Hmm well I don't really enjoy getting a gift that are decorative items because I do not know where to put them. I prefer to have something that is useful which I can use instead of just placing it at a corner collecting dusts.
Getting photo frames are really so common! Normally, when my birthday is getting near I would tell people my wishlist so that they know what to buy and don't have to think hard on what to buy for me. It helps a lot. But then again, its the thought that counts.
I prefer for someone to just wish me instead of buying a gift that they just don't know whether I would like it or not. :)

In the instance I am talking about someone got me something that I really loved. It was thoughtful and just wonderful and something that I would have never bought for myself but I just adore it. The person that gave it to me is someone that I am having a hard time dealing with at all. it makes it hard for me to enjoy my gift because of the strained realtionship with this person.

No I don't think I have gotten a present from someone I don't particularly like, but I have gotten a present from someone whom I hadn't gotten a present for. That is very awkward!
