Where did you hear this?? Why would he announce a breaking of promises before he even takes office? Seems like he's stepping into trouble he can plain put off.
I'm suspicious that this may be untrue.

Ughh...I'm so sorry. I guess I should have read the whole thread first, huh?
FOX news? Oh, those guys are a bunch of blow-hard "money is everything" fat cats if you ask me.
Sorry - that's just my opinion. They just seem loud and raucus and oversimplify everything.

I haven't heard or read anything about that. When/where was this interview since Obama has been in Hawaii with his family until today I believe? Not saying that you misheard but I would think that something like that, which is the total opposite of what he said on the campaign trail, would have received more news coverage.

Since when do Liberal Democrats give exclusives to Fox News? Also, as I recall Joe Biden told people that paying taxes was patriotic. I didn't hear many promises of massive cuts.

Hey buddy. I supported McCain but I have to remind you FOX news is a quite red channel. I dislike Mr Obama but I want to see what he actually do after Jan 20.

I don't know how you don't expect the Taxes to be higher? If we had McCain the taxes will be higher. With the way that things have been going on, such as the Iraq War & these bailouts- our national debt has run so very very high, higher taxes are inevitable. :/ With how much money that our Government has been borrowing, how are you expecting us to pay it all off?
With regards to Obama's campaign- he was saying his budget would not be more than McCain's, taxes are higher every year anyway...

I have not heard anything about it either.
But you know the way the system works there's no way any politician can GUARANTEE theri campaign promises. There's always a way for congress to knock it down or piggyback other bs to a wonderful bill & it gets shot down because of the piggy backer bill rather than the origional bill.
I think their campains aren't based on actual promises just what they belive. So he says no higher taxes...... but that's his opinion on things. But that doesn't mean congress won't approve more funds to this or that in wich we do not have the funds for or good ol' "pork" spending on more bs...... And no one can predict what the future holds and if all other means have been exhausted to provide for something then so be it.
Shoot they've all been dipping into social security for gosh knows how long and yet then they tell my generation...... "sorry no $$ for you" or you have to work til you are 75! WTH!!?!?!?!? Alot of older folks have to keep working as it is because of medical insurance and cost of living ect

Dude i love they way you started this discussion, some how you belive watching televison is like attending a forum on high level economic's. Because the tv told you obama was raising taxes, you believe it and said it dosent surprise you.
then you say you got your info from fox news, not even a local television station.
cnn and foxnews are both partisian one democratic the other republican, so i dont find it surprising that They were speaking of Obama raising taxes on the fox newtwork,
Fox is not a real network its always going to serve republicans, cnn is on it way down too as dems rush to find a outlet. i advise if you like fox, watch bill oreilly cause he's really honest with republican values, but sometimes hard headed, which is good cause you can always tell. On cnn, i could only advise that you compare articles with fox, because i dont want to recommend anyone from there, seeing that i havent found a reporter i belive is bipartisian.

I totally agree with you. They all say what they want to say to get elected and then.........WHAM! They hit us between the eyes! What a sad, pitiful shame it all is.....

I don't think anyone should be surprised. Few politician keep their campaign promises because all they're interested in with these promises is getting elected. It's easy to tell the voters what they want to hear. After the candidate is elected, what do they cares what we think? We never seem to learn.
