Microwave anyone?

My question is simple. Do you own a microwave oven? And do you know how to operate it?
Well apparently my mum doesn't. She was making hot her dinner last night the old traditional way (by frying it on the pot).
I was puzzled and asked her why didn't she just chuck the thing into the microwave oven?
She gave me a sheepish look and went.. i don't know how to use it.
What about you?
Given the advance technology of our century, are you still stuck in the olden age?

I still reheat on the stove and in the oven.its like its being cooked for the first time the traditional way.I use the microwave for microwavable items like popcorn or something like that.But if i got some mac n cheese,yams,collard greens,and roast ....Stove On!

Even though a lot has been said about the side effects of microwaved food, I find it to be very handy. My sister can actually cook, entire food stuffs in it! That surprises me, for I can only cook a few dishes. I think, its just a matter of practise and you get to handle it with time. I do not have convection, which is good for making cakes. Next, I would buy one with it.

I have a very good microwave oven. I cook entire dinners in it. I use it to reheat my coffee. I use it a lot. I also cook many meals on the stove. I love my microwave. I even cooked a big turkey in the microwave. My microwave is a large size and has a rack that goes in it. I can fill it up and cook multiple items at once. I like the options of cooking on the stove, in the oven, and in the microwave.

I know how to use a microwave. I'm not that good with cooking though, haven't been taught properly yet. Some ovens are different, the older ones you have to hit Time then the amount of time and then start... then there are those who you just need to enter the time for and hit start.
Microwaves aren't really new technology but I think i'd prefer using a stove if I knew how to cook properly.

i have more than three microwave in my house. yes, i do know how to use a microwave, i use it very often, because i usually study late for school. so, whenever i get hungry, i just chuck the food in the microwave. my mom know how to use a microwave also. but, she preferred using the oven to make any food. she thinks is not healthy if you use the microwave to cook or heat up the food.
