What do you think of starting a new encyclopedia site on the internet?

I don't like Wikipedia for some things, although it is helpful for learning obscure things about odd topics once in a while. However, my biggest complaint about Wikipedia is the inability to include a short article about a topic and their judgment of what topics are important. I am starting a new encyclopedia site where I can put whatever interests me on no matter how big or small the definition will be. I however will not include definitions of people say, Bob Smith who lives on 5th street in such and such a place. To include a person they have to have a somewhat significant meaning--such as they produced videos on Myspace or the same person appears multiple times when I look them up on Google. To get a personal name on it, I may put contributed by and a person's name--I suppose if the person would contribute enough entries I could include a definition of them as an important contributor. However, the point of this post is to gather information about my idea. What do you think--would my encyclopedia idea be better than using Wikipedia? After all, a topic would have more of a chance to end up in my encyclopedia web page. Post any suggestions or comments here.
