our tree has built in fiber optics.. so i dont have to hassle with lights, THANKFULLY! ive managed to get pulling the tree down to a science! all the original ornament boxes are where the ornaments go back into..and they all fit right into a bigger box from there. we dont have a big tree..maybe 6ft overall and since it tends to be put up in a corner we dont decorate all the given sides..just the parts that are viewable from the rest of the room. so that helps in the number of things to pack up and put away. after all the ornaments are snug and safely away, all i have to do is start folding the branches back up, and lay the tree back into its box and unplug the base thingy. id say over-all taking the tree down and packing the stuff up takes me about 1/2 hour. not to shabby lol!

I love putting the tree up. I hate taking it down, though. I just sucked it up and did it while I was visiting with a friend the other night. I have a hard time sitting still, so I just took down all the ornaments, garlands and lights while we were chatting and found it wasn't that bad.

I think it's worse taking down the tree. It's always been fun putting up the tree - a lot of excitement with that feeling of holiday and celebration! And everyone (especially the kids) wants to help. And when the celebrations are over, it seems like the Christmas tree is invisible - no one refers to it; and nobody wants to help taking it down and putting away all the decorations!
