Has anyone ever made any money by selling their own ebook?

Have you ever sold an ebook that you wrote? Do you know of anyone that writes and sells ebooks? Is it really profitable (especially if you take the time to write one)?

You can go to a free publishing site like www.lulu.com and sell copies of your book by ebook or hardcover.

I just started one. I hope to finish it my the first week of Feb. I'll let you know what happens after that.
