Well firstly is there a fence between you and your neighbor .If the answer is yes what is the reason for that type of fence? Is it a chain linked fence which provides a separation but still allows you to see over your neighbor .Is it a concrete wall and how high is it ,was it designed to remove all contact except through the gate ?.Finally is it a fence made of plants, a hedge so to speak. Maybe there is no fence What type of fence exists between you and your neighbor and does it facilitate neighborly contact every once in a while or total exclusion? Also were you confronted when the fence was being erected or you just came and saw it? Finally is it suitable for you or would you like to modify it and if so what modifications would you like to make?

Hi ronnyb, There is no fence between my neighbour and me and neither of us would want it any different. We've had the same neighbours for thirty years and although we rarely visit, we help each other all the time and know that we can depend on each other should an emergency arise. Through the years they raised two sons and a daughter and we raised three sons with never a problem. Put a fence between myself and such a neighbour - Never! Blessings.

We have a chain link fence on our backyard, but it's meant to keep my children out of the road. It's not really meant to separate us from the neighbors though.

So many questions, so little time. The fences between us and our neighbors and us were chain link and were already in place when my daughter contracted for this house. We have met one of our neighbors and have established pleasant relationships with them but the one on the other side tends to stay more to themselves. The fence is adequate for our needs because it defines our property lines and keeps our kids off the road.

I don't own my home yet so there is no fence whatsoever. But if I had a choice I would build a huge tall fence like my uncle's which is about 6 feet tall and not a see-thru. Not that I'm scared of people but I would like to have my privacy Now,I was fairly surprised when somebody told me it was illegal to have a fence this tall, especially if you can't see thru it. I feel like it's Big Brother trying to control us again I don't see why this fence should prevent me from getting friendly with my neighbors-if I like them,I'll find a way to contact them,if not, good riddance

I have very strong concrete wall between me and my neighbor. I think it is very necessary because we both can be our limits and there will be no problem for each other
