What do you find the most efficent way of using a treadmill to be? I have recently decided to do at minimum 1 mile everday on my treadmill, but what is the most effective way to use it? How can you get the best results for the time you spend using it? I have been alternating speeds throughout the mile. I will do a a brisk walk, and then a slow jog, and then a little faster jog.....and alternate those three. But is that really effective? Any tips would be great!

The important thing is that you get your heart rate up and keep it up. You can alternate jogging and speed walking in 10 minute intervals, just maintain your target heart rate and your good to go.

One mile isn't that much at all...kick it up to about three or four miles per day and keep it at a good steady walking pace...that will melt the pounds off you...
