i know its way too early to tell about Valentines, but do you have a date already? It's always been nice to have someone during this ocassion. If you still don't have a date maybe you should make a move already to ask the one you want to spend the night with way ealier, someone might ask her first and you'll be lost. Anyhow, how do you usually plan to celebrate this ocassion with your someone?

I am single and have been for quite some time. A lot of people think that that is why I feel the way I do but I feel this way even when I'm not single. I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, other than the fact that St. Valentine is one of my sorority's exemplars and we have a special Valentine's Day ritual. But as a romantic holiday, I avoid it.
The holiday is supposed to be in remembrance of a Catholic priest in Pagan Rome who officiated the illegal marriage ceremonies of young couples and was burned at the stake for doing so. The ruler of Rome at the time felt that being married distracted young men from their duties as soldiers in his army and therefore outlawed marriage. The reason we celebrate on February 14 is because, scientifically speaking, it is the start of the mating season for most birds (of course that's just science, birds don't have calendars).
As far as needing a special day to show the person I love how I feel and to be especially romantic, I believe these things should happen 365 days out of the year and I don't need Hallmark and Hershey's telling me when and how to be romantic.
It has nothing to do with being bitter and single.

on the your last statement, i surely agreee!! [; For me it really doesnt affect to those who're single. As long as, your enjoying and loving being single then there's no reason to get affected with VD.

Hello, With me I am married but other then that my hubby and I already made plans for valentines Day. We plan on getting together with our couple friends. They just had a baby so we figured they will need the break. So all four of us plan on going out to shot some pool and have a couple of drinks and then going out to dinner and then most likely back to a bar/club to shot some more pool. Then we will all end up going to their place to watch movies. I can't wait because my hubby and I have not been out for a long time and I know that our friends will need that night out too.
