do you ever think it's ok to put a person in a home if you are capable of taking care of them yourself? Even if it may be hard but you can do it if you put your mind to it? I can understand when you can't afford to hire a nurse and take care of a relative that can't do for him/herself but what about when you just don't have the patience? I think that when you don't have the patience for something then you tend to get frustrated and when that happens you could take it out on the person so it may be best for them in a home. It has to be hard, what do you think?

Well it is best to take care of them yourself however, if you feel that you don't have much patience and am afraid it might lead to abuse, it is best to just send them in a home.
It's not about being lazy or anything but its because you care and do things wisely. There's definitely nothing wrong if you are doing it for the best.

It is not always best for the person who needs care. Some of them are much happier in a nursing home where they can get trained care, plus be around other people.
I am not saying to put them there and forget them, oh no, people in nursing homes need to know they are not forgotten. Many homes now allow patients to have more of their own belongings. Of course that is limited, but they don't have to do with-out all of their things. Most of us do not want to be a burden to our families, and if we need special cares, or diets we know it is a burden. Yes, patients have to give up some of their rights but so do families give up many many pleasures when taking care of us.
