What should I wear?

So I applyed for a retail job online. And I received a message today and they want me to apply again in person. What should I wear? Should I dress more casual? Not jeans and a t-shirt, but more like kakis and a nice top? Or should I dress in like a suit type outfit? It's just to apply and probably just meet with the manager. I don't think its the actual interview. But I know first impressions are always important. Any ideas?

You should dress nice. Nice shirt, and nice pants. Probably I nice white top and nice black pants would do. I wouldn't be too formal, but I wouldn't wear T-shirt, either. Do you know the dress code for the place? You could always go to the job scene & see what people are wearing & try to wear a little more classy clothes. However I don' see anything wrong with wearing a nice pants, shirt, and tie (or a dress suit outfit). Pablo

the advice i'v been given is, when going in for an interview or whatever, dress one step above how the current employees dress, but a step below how the boss/manager is dressing. a more direct answer; i guess it depends on the type of store (like is it for younger people or middle aged or older?). you are pretty much always safe with black pants and a semi-dressy top! thats what i always do. even when i went in for an interview at a super casual Dunn Brothers Coffee shop(the employees there had no dress code, only the obvious no skankyy shirts rule and no Starbucks shirts haha) GOOD LUCK!(avoid like sequiny/glittery/clevage baring tops probably lol)

Some nice slacks and top would be good. Nothing too fancy or too simple, just try to look professional. Yes, first impressions are the ones that often count.
