How do you clean your keyboard? I use to clean a remote board that I had that went to a Webtv I use to have. I would pop off the keys, shake out all the crumbs and the dust bunnies, soak the keys in a mild soapy water, dry them off and then pop the keys back on. I'm afraid to do that now that I have a laptop. It's not the same thing. Are there kits or something out on the market? DCMerkle

Canned air is the only thing I can think of. Although, I'm not sure where the crumbs and dust bunnies might go since the keys on a laptop are so tight together I know how you feel about popping out the keys on your laptop, though. I did by accident on my old laptop and then I couldn't get it back where it went. Lucky for me, the keyboard was fried and didn't work anyway so missing the N key wasn't that big of a deal.

Yeah, that's what happened to me too, except I had taken mine off deliberately, and it was one of the 'Ctl' keys that I hardly ever used. Still it annoyed me having that one little area with its 'guts' exposed, hehehe.

cover for keyboard - silicon film cover for keyboards
hello DCMerkle! I have a silicon covering on my keyboards so that the dust will not be able to go inside the small openings I clean this sheet about once a week. But I still wipe the keyboards because sometimes there is still dirt under.

katemeow, Where would I get a silicon covering? That is something that I could really use. DCMerkle

I use hair dryer, vacuum cleaner and blower - anything that comes in handy. when I have time I clean it with cleaner liquid and then dry it well or else the dust sticks to it.

HI,DCMerkle My colleague is careful of his laptops. He used one brush specialized for keyboard of laptop and a pressurized spray for screen. The brush is short and the bristles were made of soft wool that didn't damag screen. I think you could buy them from the website or from the shop of computer accessories.I also heard of a USB cleaner is easy to use. hope this is helpful!
