I don't want to work anymore. I feel so lazy! I just want to stay home, relax, eat, sleep, do the things i want to do, like dvd marathon, go online, call my friends and stay on phone for hours, things like that!
Do you also have the same feeling after the long vacation?

Well, i am dreaming of that too! Wish i could sustain a happy life living on my own, i mean not being employed, but still being able to survive and enjoy simple things in life! Its not easy though! Mine is a life of a struggling employee in a corporate ladder with nowhere to go. I might just have to find more alternatives. Im sure the best is yet to come for us, dian! Cheers!

Hello Ysabel. You are not alone in your predicament! he he he
I think everyone is having that feeling after finally being settled and having the mind set of being on vacation, we all don't want to work. But of course, we want to get paid, we need the paycheck so we just have to report for work. he he =)

Yes. I was thinking of skipping school tomorrow but I thought to myself, better have some discipline or else I'll keep ditching classes.
Fourteen days = Not enough. :(

As of now, I don't have work but my mom feels that way. She doesn't want to work after a long vacation but she has no choice but to work to make a living...

I felt exactly like that when i was a teacher... after the summer vacaiton... and christmas break... i hate to go back to work... but now that i am not a teacher but works in an office where i enjoy flexible time... i don't feel that way anymore... so even if i have to go to work on Monday... i am fine with that...

Hi there Ysabel!
Yes, I get that feeling just like how I am feeling right now! School starts again on Monday and I am so not ready for it yet. I still want to surf the internet doing mylot, play computer games, hang-out with my family, play card games, watch tv, read books for leisure, and sleep.

I work fulltime, that is almost every day, and every second weekend. I am a assistance nurse for Geriatric Care. Every third week I have three day of, I usually take one day off and that gives me five days of. Those five days I think of holiday. And it really is nice to have those five days. However, when I go back to work, it feels great. I have had some time for my self, and for relaxing. But I have no desire of never go back. I love my job, I love what I do. So for me, five days is enough to get back some energy.
If you for some reason feel you do not want to go back, you might need to change your profession. I guess, I one day will have those felings to, and If I do I think it is time to change my profession and do something new, something that feels refreshing.

LOL =D Yeah, that's human nature, i guess ^_^ I will get the same feeling too whenever i'm on leave or away from work for too long.. It happened to me once when i was working, and after just 3 days of off, i totally had no mood to work.. lol =D
I think it's due to our mindset, that we had just settled down, and only starting to get used to a relaxed life, but we have to start working all over again.. lol =D

I was working during the holiday season but I do understand how you feel. It is really to get back on track after a really long and fun vacation.
We tend to feel how stressed we are at work when we are not stressed out of work.
So, while I am away from work, I still make sure I check my work emails at home and ask my officemates to call me after shift to give me updates to somehow keep me in the loop.
This way, I avoid being shocked with a lot of unknown things at work.
Good day!

NOPE haha I like working as long as I don't have to do too much overtime (which also means I don't mind working overtime, as long as I don't feel abused :P) I just like working! And I guess that's why I'm here on myLot right now because no tasks have been set yet for us. I'm really excited about the new project that our boss told us about :D I'm just waiting until he finally needs us to work on something.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Still not totally immersed in it. I'm still waiting for "more" work :P I already have some but it's more on experimenting on new technologies than on doing something I already know how so it's not "real work" but it will be, soon, I guess :P

Oh my God, we have the same feeling!lol..After two weeks also I feel like staying at home all the time and relax watching dvd. The long vacation was so great I don't feel going back to work again.hehehe
I returned home to the province last holiday season and being with the family was so important to me, I just stayed at home and watch movies in dvd, the feeling with no work to mind and officemates to fret were more fantastic but then I really have to work to earn more, so even if I don't like it, I got up early today and report to work.

Ysabel, i cannot fully relate because as you know, i don't have the luxury of being away from work for too long. I am even working on weekends. But i would love the idea to just sit around, doing nothing but watching tv and eating what i like, that's the kind of vacation for me. Really away from the office! he he And you know that!

Hi Ysabel,
I have the same feeling after a long vacation. not just two weeks vacation but everytime there will be a long weekend.
Sometimes, time is not enough for household chores, and bonding with my kid.
have fun

Yes that always happens to me .The first thing while on a vacation is that I start missing work around the second week and after that the vacation starts to go too fast and then when the day before going back to work I usually feel tired again and not in any mood to work.I think the thought of doing nothing sets in your bones and work become bothersome
