Consciousness...

So, what exactly was the *very* first manifestation of consciousness. Where (in space AND time!) did it occur? Did it happen a trillion years ago? Did it happen a trillion light-years away?
In other words, where and when did awareness/perception first occur? What is the smallest unit of being at which it CAN occur? Cellular? Sub-cellular? Molecular? Sub-molecular? Atomic? Subatomic? By a tissue? An organ?
Does something have to be an "organism" - and neither mineral nor vegetable? - to achieve this "awakeness"? Bacteria? Single-cell organism? Worm? Insect? Mold? Do a gajillion little organisms or spores shout "hey!", "ouch!!", "watch it, buddy!", or "what the???" - each time you clean your bath tub?
Hmmmm...........

Consciousness. Lets 1st define it a bit. 'Something' has Consciousness if it responds to stimuli? which has mood swings and free will? Sometimes I wonder,
lets say, i am a alien from another universe! where there are creatures as big as the earth(bear with me 4 a while..). Now somehow i come to the solar system and m watching the big blue ball(the earth) and talking to my friend,"Is it alive? Does it have any consciousness", I ask.
Because i see the blue planet change its appearance and mood(weather) . So i say,"lets do a test, lets throw an asteroid on to this planet and lets see if it shouts 'watch it buddy', if it does, then its alive!"
So when i throw this asteroid towards it.As it approaches the planet, something unexpected happens, the planet throws back a small 'thing' to save itself from the asteroid hit! The 'thing' creates a big (nuclear)explosion on the asteroid and the asteroid is destroyed!!!!!
I conclude,'the blue ball is alive!!!!!'
The point is..may be..just may be.. consciousness is outcome of a densely complex system..any system..the denser the complexity the higher the consciousness..

Some days I'd swear I'm older than dirt, but I wasn't there when consciousness began. I can't imagine an answer to your post that has any rational proof to go along with it.

Another post that, although provides no definitive answer (which of course, I didn't really expect to find), somebody gets what I'm asking. Older than dirt - ha ha! Very clever!! ;)

Nah - those are inane and boring questions. What's your sign? Is Britney finished? Did you vote for McCain or Obama?
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
I appreciate the hand on the shoulder, and there's know way you could know this, but I'm no newbie to myLot. I've gone more than 15 rounds with 'da man' around here.
But I am not about to knock a generous offer of advice, so thanks.
Oh, lol, and I am quite sober and seeking responses probably not from those just coming in from a Friday night's adventures!;) Have a good one.
