Taking your pets for granted

Have you ever take your pets for granted? my boyfriend gave me a puppy a few months ago and I was really excited about it. I really had fun playing with her for a cople of weeks or so, then afterwards I just kept her at the backyard and left her to the care of the housekeeper. I love her but sometimes I just don't have the time to take care of her. Whenever I have the time I play with my dog but it seems that I don't have that much interest in her anymore. Am I a bad owner? Do you also take your pets for granted once in a while?

Well pets are like babies, you have to give them attention, so the pet will be feeling loved. I have a dog, and I too sometimes I take him for gratnted, but I always end up kissing him in the evening and play with him. You have to give her sometime, since now you own a pet, which is your responsability not the housekeeper's.

Yes, I guess that's best. I have to give her some time too, but with my current schedule in school plus all the activities I'm in to I just seem to forget that I have a pet.

I have to admit I take my pets for granted sometimes. But now I try to play with them often and feed them as well..cause I usually let [like you] the maid take care of them.

I've been very busy with school lately so I haven't played pith my dog or my cat lately. My boyfriend like having pets and he planned to give me a hamster but I declined fearing that I might just forget about it and get it killed.

It happens. Sometimes you get to busy or are to tired. We just have to try and not let it happen to often. :)

Animals need lots of attention. We always need to make time for them or they wont think we love them anymore. They have feeling like we do. I have 4 dogs and they are small and i have 1 cat. My 4 dogs sleep in my bed at times. We take walks in the park and take them for rides in the car. I make sure they get attention. I am not trying to sound mean but if you dont have time for the dog you might want to find her a home where she will get the attention she needs.
