This dog has now gone to the Bridge, but over her life, she rescued over 900 cats and at least one person. Besides rescuing her owner from depression. So, lets all join together remembering Ginny, the dog who was once named "Cat of the Year!" http://www.ginnyfanclub.com/index.php

Hi ElicBxn, What a heart warming story, it just goes to show that animals are far better and superior the humans, I hope Ginny is very happy at Rainbow Bridge and and know thar she will never have to rescue ever again as they are all safe there at the Bridge. Tamara

I'm sure she's taking care of those kitties waiting for their people at the Bridge. She's quite a hero isn't she?

It figures she was a female. Women really are the superstars arent they? My dog likes to chase cats I don't see him saving any except possibly his roomate if push got to shove.

The roomie's dog loves kittens, but I'm not sure she'd go rescuing them.

It's great to hear true stories like this one. I read about Ginny some time ago when she was still alive and finding lost cats. I think she was the most amazing dog a cat could ever know. I'm sure there are other dogs out there like her and cats as well.

Rygel and Booboo helped us raise the bottle babies last year and Rygel raised Oliver from the time he was 4 weeks old. So, while they aren't out finding kittens, they have been helping us raise them.

Yeah, Rygel is the white eared cat in my avatar and Oliver is the kitten, now all grown up, in my avatar.

Awww---I've bookmarked that site, I did read the main section, and plan to go back and watch the videos....what a great doggie...shame she passed on though. Since I didn't explore the whole site yet, I noticed that Ginny's owner still takes care of all those homeless cats. What a great story!

Wasn't Ginny a very special dog. I think her owner was also pretty special.

So, what exactly is the site about, other than a heroic dog who liked to rescue cats instead of chase them? Is it your site? I ask because i'm sure some of the pics there I've seen with your discussions about your fur babies!lol. Who knows though, as cats are as diverse as people and while no 2 will be the exact same, there are many that look similar.

Nope, don't think so, I'm 1500 miles from Long Island.

Well, it helps to know that the pics come from Long Island before I decide to embed myself deeply in foot in mouth disease! lol.

Isn't it, I know our dog, Zoe, has issues with some of the cats, but she just LOVES kittens. She was laying on the roomie's bed and licking some of the cats. I just know Ginny was that kind of dog too.

Oh I remember the story of this little dog Jenny! Awwww bless her sweet heart! I didn't know she had passed over the Rainbow Bridge.... She was such an awesome dog, wasn't she? Gosh, she will be so deeply missed! You know she went straight to Heaven for all the wonderful things she's done for cats and her owner. May she rest in peace and get lots and lots of treats!! lol (I didn't mean to make that rhyme but I did!! LOL)

I'm sure they offered her the chance to go straight to heaven, but knowing her big heart, I'm sure she's waiting for her person to come.

That was a very touching story. People should act with half as much compassion as this dog did. I really don't know how to express the feelings I have about this.

Isn't that the truth. If most people were half as good as Ginny, this world would be a much better place.
