This is the habit of mylotians here in mylot. I also prefer my friend's discussion but I would also like to respond to the discussions which has no response.
I hate my discussions to have 0 responses, so I try to give responses to new discussions so they would not suffer the same pain, which I had suffered.
So, what is your priority at mylot?

Yes, I musy confess I mainly respond to my friends discussions. I get them in email and answer discussions from there. I prefer to help a friend out, otherwise what is the pount of being friends if we can't help each other out.

This is nothing to be confessed. You know people enjoy doing their own stuffs here and if someone wants to be in your interest list then he must have to join your friends list. There is nothing wrong in it my friend.
Even I enjoy my friends' discussion these days.

I get WAY more than 30 notifications a day, but I don't respond to all of them, just the ones that provoke a response.
For example, I have no interest in soap operas, but one started about someone on one named "Roxy" and that made me think of my cat and wonder why she was talking about my cat, since honestly, it wasn't until half way down the discussion was it apparent she wasn't talking about my cat. And I posted a pix of the cat.

So, Roxy is your cat's name or the user name?
yes, sometime discussions leads us to think otherwise. Most of the time, specially new users, they would start a discussion in an interest "I love Madona the singer" with the title, "I love this singer!". You would never understand the meaning of that disucssion even if you would read the entire discussion because the name would never be in it. You need to see the interest and then only you would understand!

I like to look at what my friends have started. I see if I can help them out. And it doesn't worry me even if the discussion is like 3 months old.

I must say ,you have a good habit of not seeing others in pain. Well ,most of the time i respond to my friends like i am doing now. This is done just to get myself responded. Those with 0 responses often make boring topics ,which i seldom respond. Also i look for the kind of topic ,if it is interesting i respond definitely ,be it a friend ,or the most responded topic.Sometimes when i suffer from a 0 response problem ,i ask my friends to respond for me,which make me always responded..

I must tell you that with all the message I get in my mail box from mylot is enough to keep me busy at mylot. Otherwise, I always love to see me at the first of the responders list in a discussion.
These days, I can't get time to surf at "No response" Section of mylot.
I miss them.

Dear friend,
My first preference will be to friends discussion and if I see any that I could give responds that is really I do think I can contribute then I would give a respond. Always my first preference would be to friends. Simply for giving a respond or for a name sake I would hesitate to give a respond those I respond that I do have something I feel to give.

yes i do. i open two windows when i go to mylot. one for mylot and one window is for my email to check my notifications. if i know what the discussion is all about then i respond to it. if the discussion was asking about my views then i respond to it. if the discussion in about girl thing i ask my wife what she can say so i can still response. i will try my best to response but if i dont know anything about the discussion i pass. no matter if they response to my discussion or not i still respond to theirs.

I basically respond to discussions that interest me, be it friend or someone else. I think my friends do the same thing, since I usually do not get an overwhelming response from friends when i start a discussion. I mostly go under the friends started tab, and scroll through there to see if there are any interesting discussion. It's usually discussions that were started weeks ago, that I have already seen. Then I will look for other discussions to respond to.

Why don't you try the notification feature of mylot. With this feature you will receive an email from mylot about your friends new discussion. There you don't need to surf for the friend's started section. I do it and believe me my mailbox is full wth those mails from mylot and I enjoy reading them! It saves time too!

I don't really have a regulation of responding. I choose randomly. But most of the time, I pick topic at the frontline in the page. I mean the 8 newest topic at the frontline of the website.

Me too. I am a newer one here, so I think the first thing I should do is giving my friends' discussions, then if I begin a discussion my friends will give me their responds.
Sometimes I will just find the new discussions and give my respond, that is great.

Since I am new here, I have yet to make new friends and I am looking up to all discussions to response. I hope I will be of help to them when I responses to their discussions. I don't have many friends yet and I hope I can do favors to my friends and response to all their discussions.

Yes, make a good number of friends. Don't be afraid because we are as friendly as we can. If you send your request, we would accept it with more than pleasure.
One suggestion, add all the persons to your friends list, you are responding to!
in this way you will have a good number of friends in no time!

It depends how much time I have. lately I haven't spent as much time here as usual so I always go in this order... 1) my own discussions to see if there are new responses. 2) my friends discussions b/c usually I can rely on being interested in them. 3) my interests tab to see if there are people talking about shows, movies, etc that I like. Then finally, I will try the new user, no responses, or just go randomly.
Since I've been here less often, I usually end at #2 because my friends start so many that by the time I'm done with them, I gotta log off!

Naturally, for friends with notification on, I want to respond. The problem is that I don't get many notifications, and I don't know why. I also respond to anything else that looks interesting. If a friend posts a discussion that doesnt interest me, I don't respond just because it's a friend. For example, I know nothing at all about video games, so I can't respond to those discussions.

Very true. I can't answer the discussion on sewing or making arts on clothes because I don't know anything about it and I hope that my friends understand it.
It has been a while since I started this discussion so, now my thinking is changed also. Now, I go for friends' discussion most of the time.

I respond to mylott mostly if i get time to spare on mylot. I dont start discussions, i like to repoond to the discussions. I dont get the topic to start a discussion. where i have started the discussion hardly 3-4 mylotters have respond to it. so no need to start the discussion it better to give response to the discuissions. Happy myloting and havea nice day.

I respond to all discussions that I find interesting but I make it a point to respond to my friend's discussions first unless I don't understand what they are talking about then I won't respond to it.

Cool! that is a way to go. I can also not respond if I can't understand. I have been embarrassed with my stupid response when I responded without reading the discussion. I responded on the basis of topic.
Most of the time you need to read the discussion before you can actually reply!

I respond to discussions that I find even remotely interesting. I don't even get around to checking the discussions that my friends have started until I have gone through the rest of the tabs and haven't found any other discussions that I find interesting. I don't really have a priority list when it comes to myLot.

Hi amazing! How are you doing these days. It has been a while since I have commented on this discussion.
Guess I was busy in my other stuffs here on mylot. In the mean time, I had problems with my monitor and internt connection.
Anyway, in new times, I used to go for only 0 response discussion but now I am busy with my friends' discussion and commenting my friends comment and response.
