Adults - do you get caught up in kids tv shows (even if kids are not around)?

I find myself wanting to watch certain TV shows on Nick or Disney when I hear there is going to be a new episode. There are many shows on Nick that bore me, but shows like iCarly are pretty funny, even for adults, and I find myself wanting to catch the new episodes. Disney I watch all the time too when there is nothing else on. It's like Disney is my fall-back option when none of my other adult shows are on (like Desperate Housewives and stuff like that) I don't even have kids yet but I know once I have them I'll be able to watch what they watch and still enjoy it (long as it's not something annoying) :) How about you? Do you watch kids shows without kids around? Did you get into kids shows because you have kids or do you just get into them because you've always been into them? Do you admit to people that you watch these shows? I don't care if people think it's funny, if a parent is talking about how their kid loves a certain Disney show, I'll admit that I like it too! something about kids shows being so innocent and always working out makes them a fun thing to watch in the background while I type on mylot :)

Yes, I still watch a lot of kids shows and it has nothing to do with the fact that I have children. With my older boys (12 and 13) I found myself watching with them to ensure they weren't seeing anything inappropriate. I REALLY have to monitor them now! My 3 year old and I watch disney all day long. I even like some of the shows myself. I really liked foster's Home For Imaginary Friends when it first came out. My kids weren't that into it, but I watched it anyway. I also really liked the Avatar series. I tell my friends al lof the time that I like watching things that entertain without offending me, insulting me, grossing me out, or making me blush.

I'd be monitoring my kids too! When I see some of these so called teenage shows that contain many adult topics, I'd never want my kids watching them. I followed Avatar for awhile then I lost track of new episodes. I really liked that one and wanted to see it through so i'll probably look for reruns. I liked how that actually had a storyline that changed each episode instead of a static cartoon at a static place.

LOL--I don't even have kids unless you count my two furbabies..but I just LOVE kids shows and kid type movies as well. I so much prefer watching them over "adult" type shows/movies. Mmmm..must be the kid in me, no?? Let's face it, in general there's so much gloom and doom negativity in the world, so it's nice to escape to something more innocent--anything Disney ranks number one with me

My husband and I go to a lot of animated or kids movies in the theater. Recently we've cut back to save money and we only go to the theater for movies that you HAVE to see on the big screen (like action and adventure). In the past we've seen Monsters, Nemo, Madagascar 1 & 2, and many more in the theaters :) However unlike you I also like adult shows and movies just the same. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a light and fluffy kids movie, other times I'm in the mood for an action packed adult thriller. I check Disney everytime I'm looking for something to watch. It often wins as long as there is no reality shows on that I like :)

Yep kids shows do seem to release stress, probably because they are highly predictable and usually not very dramatic.

Hi, all the time I get caught up in a kids program. Spongebob is one I watch when I can. I just love spongebob and patrick. My favorite episode is the two faces of squidward, I laugh everytime I see it.

We get caught up in Spongebob and I even have a lot of their video games :) Spongebob may be a kids show but they throw in a lot of jokes that only adults would get :)
