My old computer.....

...... that I have not been able to use was basically labeled worthless tonight.I was told by a friend yesterday that I could get a wireless card and I could us it on WiFi.I bought one last night and it turned out it was for an upgrade of Windows higher then I had.It was late and the store had closed.Today I had a lot of things scheduled and was then able to take it back and exchanged it for a card that was compatable to the system I was running. Then the CD Rom to load the program was not working, like it has done in the past.To replace it was going to cost more then buying a new computer.I ended up having to buy a netbook.Luckily there was one returned only because it was a different color then it showed on the box. But,the box was opened I got it for almost one third off of the regular price.Good deal huh? So,I will be on more now.Has anyone else ever had problems like this with a computer?

I had bought two different wireless cards and the CD Rom could not read the disk and many other disks I had.Because the old computer could only handle up to Windows 2000 it was going to cost around $1500 for me to get a new CD Rom for it.

Exactly,to get everything fixed on that old model I could of bought 3 new laptops! The last car that I had was a 1999 model and it needed $2,000 worth the work.I deceided to let it go instead. Happy New Year

For me? not yet!!! LOl good for you. yea it's a good deal to have that new notebook you said. Well, it's pretty much annoying when our computer won't work and we have so many things to do online. good mine is still working until now even if it is an old one. LOL..

I do not know what OS you are using but for my old system with XP i purchased a usb receiver for wifi. You still need a cd rom but they can be purchased at a reasonable price.
