I log into my yahoo mail beta account, but I can't access chat it is not available, meaning that the dropdown next to where it says Hi, "username", from where I can choose the status is not there. Here is the thing. To be able to sign into chat using yahoo mail beta, there should be a "pull-down menu. Click Available, Busy, or Invisible to enable chat. (For a few seconds, you’ll see the message, “Loading chat…” Then you’ll see the availability you just selected.)" This drop down list just IS NOT THERE. I don't have Yahoo messenger Downloaded on my computer anymore since I had it recently reformatted but I was thinking this would be a easier way since I only to talk to very few anyhow. So if you can please direct me in the right way I will be most grateful for all your help.

That is exactly what I had to do before I could use it in my mail. I hadn't wanted to since it would leave my computer with more room but I had to download it and glad I did since my little sister loves using the calling feature.

I found an alternative instead of downloading all these messengers whether it is yahoo or msn. The website is called meebo.com and you can log into your yahoo or msn account without needing to install any programme/software. I hope that you manage to log on into your account. Hi it's me again..I know meebo.. I had just forgotten about it since I hadn't used it in a long time. meebo and ebuddy is something the kids used at school to get around not having a meesenger on the computers at school and it is great use at the library as well. Thanks for reminding me. Much appreciated.

I haven't used yahoo to chat in a while. It seemed I was always being logged out. So now I use AOL IM. I know that isn't very helpful. Sorry.

Thanks for the response to my discussion I appreciate it. I think you might have to enable the new mail which is beta to be able to do so which I did but still not working for me so I guess I just might have to download the yahoo messenger even though I don't want to.
