Is January a good month for shopping?

After the shopping frenzy last December, the malls are having big discount sales again this January especially that only few shoppers are going inside the mall. Malls are trying to attract customers through big discount. But people seem not inclined to spend money anymore after having spent most of their money during the holiday season. do you think you can find good bargains this January? Is this the best month to go shopping?

I think Jan. is the best month for shopping. Seasonal sale is always the best one.

You're right. But we also have to avoid impulse shopping, It is better to buy this Janauary for the thing which we need most.

I do, and I think if you have the money, now is a great time to start buying some for next year. I know one lady that buys for a bunch of families, she does most of hers in January. When she knows someone needs help, she will get in her toys, and other items and give them a birthday or christmas.

Would you believe that I sometimes buy Christmas birthday, or baptismal gifts as early as January? I get up to 70% discount and that's a lot of money saved. I just keep them in the cabinet and when there is an occassion that I need to give a gift, then I don't worry much looking for some gifts. I always have ready gifts in my cabinet.

not sure. I would think people will shop when there is big discount. but with the economy uncertainty then it's uncertain if this will still happen. I mean stimulus this and that is good, but people are still going to be careful when shopping until the economy shows signs of recovery.

You're right. The economy is too bad. That is why these malls do many things like giving big discounts to attract more customers. Otherwise, they will end up closing down.

I think so... like you said... malls are offering a lot of sales to attract customers... but like most customers... i am not inclined to spend money because this is the start of the year... and with the current economic crisis... we all need to spend our money wisely... and that means not giving in on impulse buying when we see great items on sale...

That's absolutely right, betterkeep your money for the rainy days. it would be good if we will not be tempted with all those discounts andbuy anything even if we don't need it. But if there are things on sale now and I really need it, I would definitely grab that opportunity.

If it is a particular thing like a new tv or outfit your after I don't bother as you only end up buying things you don't need thats what I have found anyway. We went down on New Years Eve sale and brought a tv for our caravan and that was a bargain but that was all we did buy.We were waiting for the sales to save money.I think you can pick up bargains if you are willing to fight through the crowds and all the shoving and pushing,we went to an outlet centre out of town so it was not to bad. Some people do their christmas shopping in the january sales ,wrapping paper and all.I suppose it makes sence but I could not hide that lot all year, and not only that I am exhausted after christmas and last thing I feel like is more shopping in the sales. We are off to buy a porch awning for our caravan tomorrow but we won't get that in the sales .

I'm not sure if it's the best month but it is a good month to shop. You're right about malls giving discounts and all so it is a good idea to take advantage of them. I did shop a little, just a little yesterday and I might even shop more in the coming days. Most people are no longer inclined to shop at this month since they've exhausted their cash last month and are no longer willing to spend even more. Have a good one.

Yeah, you're right. People have shopped much during the month of December and most of the financial resources have been depleted. So it isbetter to take that big discount advantage. Happy shopping.
