Why do you choose a partner older or younger than you?

I was just wondering. My mom chose a man older by four years. I guess because she thought that my dad is mature and she felt secured.
I had a boyfriend two years younger than me. I chose him because he was fun to be with and he makes me feel young too. I don't even look older than him though.
When I had a boyfriend as young as I, things were alright but the relationship got boring.
When I met someone older than me by three years, things were pretty cool. I can't deny that it was fun to be with him. He's mature and fun at the same time.
Why do you choose a partner older/younger?

Oh, i didn't choose my partner. when he happened to come into my life, i sort of heard thousands of angels singing hahaha.
he's 17 years older than me but it's not because of his age that i chose him... i just felt in love with him.

i was seventeen years old then, and he was 32... sort of he may have been charged of cradle-snatching hahaha!!!

Wow! I remember the time I developed this crush to a guy 15-17 years older than me. Wow. So you guys worked out.. I wonder what could have happened if it were me and the guy I liked. It's the past anyway..

I think that age doesn't really matter - a guy could be older than me by years, but mentally he could be a kid. My husband is four years older than me, but he's sometimes like a kid, at other times, an old man. My sister is older than her husband by three years, but he's very mature and she depends on him a lot. So I guess the mental age is more important to me.

That's a good insight but my question actually applies to those who really refer to the physical age and not mental age.
For example, my friend prefers older men. Literally, older by 5 years or so.
But still, thanks.

My boyfriend is three years ahead of me. I always choose a guy who is ahead of me because I don't want to be branded as a cradle snatcher or a sugar mommy.. Thank God because the guy that I like is older than me..=) I think it is better for a girl to choose older guys because they say that girls are two years ahead their normal age when it comes to their mental ability..=)

for me age really doesnt matter at all...maturity level does...i cant STAND immature ppl at all! and if a guy isnt going to treat me right or act his age then NO WAY

I agree. I can't stand immature people too. We need to be treated as what we are, women. Immature people usually take us for granted.
