Should your computer mouse retire at 40?

The computer mouse,arguably the single most important consumer gadget of the digital era,marked its 40th birthday recently.Some say the mouse is a simple,intuitive and cheap way to move a cursor round a screen.It can't be replaced at a very low cost.It's going to be around fo a very long time.Should the moue retire at 40?

Hi Joe,
He he, that sounds so funny, I don't have a mouse as I have a LapTop, but there is a main computer in the spare room whic my hubby use sometimes and its the third mouse he has had so I don't think this one is ready to ready, I just have a touch pad. Hugs.
