Kitten hates the dog! / myLot

I need some advice we have recently got a new kitten and our dog tries to play with him but he hates the dog, he hisses and spits at the poor dog everytime they are in the smae room, how can I help the situation? Is there anyway to help matters or will it just take time for the kitten to get used to the dog? Thanks

I think time will tell if things will change here as it is a natural reaction for the little kitten, as time goes by they may become best friends but then they may just tolerate each other, but it will take time...I hope it works out for you...

If a dog and cat meets in their younger age, like one or two months, they could be good friends :-), I do have both in my home living peacefully and calm. My cat loves my doggy very much, but the fact is they met at very younger age, its a basic instinct of animals to show an aggressive nature to those animals comes under them in the food chain. So I think may be after sometime the problem will be solved, after the cat is used to the presence of a doggy.
