Why do I always have crap in my eye?

Can someone please tell me why I always have crap floating around in my eyes? It's weird stringy things and I hate it! If I have my contact lenses on, it'll sometimes be on top of my lens and it blurs my vision until I get it out. What is it and how do I get rid of it without having to stick my finger in my eye?

Uh, I suggest getting to an eye doctor when that stringy thing is at the top of your lens. Or an emergency room. As it sounds like you have a parasite type worm floating around in your eye. Yes, these things happen. But they can be removed without harming your eye. So, that's a good thing. But you must seek medical attention.

Oh, gross! I hope it's not a worm in my eye. I feel disgusted now. LOL. I guess I better get to an eye doctor ASAP.

I think it is called, matter. It happens when you have a cold or a little bit of infection or dirt in your eyes. The best way to take care of it, is to use some visine.

You may have some type of infection because basically your eyelashes and blinking is the bodies natural defense from most things or particles getting in your eyes. Often times when I have an eye infection, I will have strings of "gunk" on my lenses or in the corners of my eyes. This is your eyes way of letting you know that something is wrong. It could be that your eyes are responding to a lack of oxygen. I would speak to my opthamologist about it.

You're right. I guess I should go to the eye doctor. I just hate going to any and all doctors. Thanks for your kind response!

Has this always been a problem for you? Or has this started to happen just recently? If it was always like this, perhaps your body just does that. Carry around a bottle of eyewash or saline solution and get that out. But if it is just recently, then I think it might be an allergic reaction to something around you, some kind of change in environment that just happened. Did you recently move? Or start using new shampoo/laundry detergent? That might have something to do with it. But in any case, these other people are right: go see a doctor!

It's been a problem for at least the last 15 years. I thought it was normal because I would always see my female friends trying to get stuff out of their eyes too. We all thought it was from our make-up. I don't wear make up too often anymore, but I still have this problem so I'm thinking it didn't have anything to do with make up.
