I just got a Xbox and for some reason when my dad try to connect it to the internet, wouldn't connect and our rouder is working great. And also I gotta the one that cost $199.99. Also I can't play regular Xbox games on the 360. Anyone knows offers on hard drives and why isn't my xbox 360 connecting to my internet?

as far as it no playing regular XBox games...the 360 can only play X amount of regular xbox games.
If you go here, http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm, it should have a list of XBox games that the 360 can play

As well as the installation update that enables the 360 to play said older games.
As for the connection, how are you connecting the x360? wirelessly? or by wires? wirelessly, then you need the wireless adapter.
Wired, well, obviously the ethernet cables.
And the reason you need the harddrive? to save all of the connection settings, as well as your saved games, possible videos, demos, and game add ons that you will be SURE to see on the xbox live marketplace.
Myself? Sure wish I got a bigger HD than the 20 GB he he.
Good luck!!

Yes to connect to xbox live you need a hard drive. Usually since most features on live require you having a hard drive. You can get a real good deal at gamestop.
