I dont know about you, but i think the news is a complete load of rubbish... I mean its good that they are informing us about the world, and whats happening around us. But you know what would be even better, the truth. Most of what they talk about is over exaggerated. I think the reason people watch it is because it targets our feelings. Sad, Angry, Jealous, Hopeful and by over exaggerating everything, they are achieving this. However you may find some instances where it is not over exaggerated, but this only happens when they dont need to. Next time you watch the news, i want to see if you feel anything from their stories, which draw you to watching them... Also you would notice, in the case of an argument between to people (example), you would find, that the news only shows one side of that argument, which in tern makes you on their side... However when they don't have anything about the world, as in nothing new has happened, you would see the stories, mainly about money, then movie stars, then other things, depends... The problem is, they have too much power to influence, which they are using wrongly... Please post your opinion as id love to hear.

The news is very important for covering things that have a global impact such as the current conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians, because it gives live updates on the matter that is of great concern to many of us, but other than that it doesn't do much justice to anyone. Most news hosts also have an annoying habit in which they invite someone to speak on a particular matter and when they disagree with the person, they often butt in with their own opinions. This constant interruption goes on forever, and the host eats up most the time on the show talking about what they think rather than letting the guest have their say, which is really frustrating for the viewer. On another matter, I think the news has a way of numbing us to issues concerning violence. On a daily basis, we are exposed to news items about minor conflicts and scandals until it becomes routine for us to hear about violence on a daily basis. Unless it's someone we know or a global crises, we watch the news item but really aren't emotionally stirred up anymore. Even with its limitations, the News is still relevant to our culture and age and I wouldn't want it to go away anytime soon. Just as with anything in life, there will always be imperfections, but the it does not determine the entire thing.

yeh but they should exaggerate the stories, and add their opinions to it. It should just be 100% news, thats it.

The news media will put a spin on all the stories based on what their personal beliefs happen to be about that story. It is up to us, the viewer or reader of the news to investigate it further if we want to know and understand that facts regarding a story they have reported.

That is why I watch news from different agencies. Then you can research said news. This is the beauty of the internet. I don't care for the news fluff pieces, I just like to see what is going on in the world and at home.
