Will you take the leaflet on the street?

When you are walking to the street, will you take the leaflet? Most of time I will take it. As the staff is tired to hand out these leaflets. At least I can be a little helpful for them to finish their work sooner.

I really try to not take it, but in a friendly way. I am very aware of our earth's resources and I do not want to take paper that I will at best put into a paper recycling bin and at worst just throw away. It is my feeling that helping the workers to get rid of the papers will encourage the company in question to print more and more. Therefore I only take things that are actually of interest to me.

I can appreciate that you have very nice intentions, but it still feels wasteful to me (even with the recycle bin) so I don't usually accept.

I always take a leaftlet, although most of the time the product they are trying to sell never interests me, but I like to help them out, it's not a pleasant job is it, standing in the street having to give out leaflets to people. I will put the leaflet in the bin if I don't need it, trouble is you do see a lot of people take them and throw them in the street afterwards, which creates a mess and makes the high street look untidy, it does encourage litter.

You are very considerate. Even if the leaflet is useless for me. I still take it home and put it to my old newspaper. So they will be recycled later.

Yes I always take the leaflet. Even if that means I will throw it in the next bin when they are not looking around. I always try to be nice with these people who are doing this job to earn a few extra bucks. Most of them seem students who do it to sustain their studies. I usually refuse the leaflets... mostly because i know i am not interested in any of the information they have there... and it will be my problem as to where i will throw it because i just don't want to leave the leaflet lying on the street floor... and i also do not want to put it in my bag or pocket because i would certainly forget to remove it and that will eventually become trash in my bag...

In fact, sometimes, I also have the seem feeling with you. Sometimes I will think that this leaflet has no meaning to me, I do not like it,and it is not helpful to me at all. But sometimes, I will think that this people are forced to do such kind of things, maybe it is good for them if I take this leaflet.

Yes most of the time I do. the only times I don't is when I already got one of the same. But as much as I can i try to get one as you said, it's one less little work for them. Also, I see many people who just don't mind those that try to give them these hand outs, but as for me, I raise my hand to decline or shake my head no in order for them to realize that I'm not taking the leaflet, I think somehow it helps them in that way so that they don't feel snubbed by me.

youless, I am always the curious one and yes I will be picking up leaflets, business portfolios, discount offers, fast food chain discount coupons and etc.. After all, who knows you might just land yourself a good bargain and deal. Just an example, I enjoy going out with the children and they simply love all the fast foods when it comes to meal times. So, these discount coupon hand outs do come in handy, getting the added items at a relatively low discount. Imagine the savings I had gotten and I always like the "mileage" here if you know what I mean. There are times I would even picked up useful free samples like facial tissues and movie premiers - so yes I do take them no only to enlighten their work but for my good sakes as well. Cheers.

This is a good idea. Usually you will get lots of discount coupons in the streets.

In some countries, I can even have a free meal just by sampling the samples on the food street and/or supermarkets. So, curiosity does not always kill a cat here as in this case.

Always. Even if it's a waste of paper (poor trees), the people handing them out are generally paid very little and it's a sucky job. I'll also stop for surveys and things, though not if they're too long, for the same reason. They're just doing their job and if I can be the one smiling person in their whole day, then why not?

Usually, I don't take the leaflets because it is troublesome to wait until I see a rubbish bin to throw it away. Also, I think that if people take the leaflets, it is like encouraging them to distribute even more. There is a busy location in my town where it is used to be a simple place, people just walk through under the bridge to access the mall. Then, some day, someone starts to distribute leaflets there and you know what, there are nearly 10 different companies hiring people to do exactly the same there now. It is becoming such an annoyance.

That depends what they are trying to sell, or what is in the content of those leaflets. Most of the time, the staff hand it to me, and I would toss it off when I walk away if that is not interest to me at all. Sorry, I have a valuable time to do something else.

leaflet, a good way for promotion - it is a good way for businesses to deliver leaflets on the streets where lots of people come and go
Hello youless. You are so nice and kind as to help those people who deliver the leaflets to the pedestrians on the street. If they give me one, I usually accept it. Speaking of leaflets, I think that it is a good way for businesses to deliver leaflets on the streets, where lots of people come and go, for the promotion of their products, which is a convenient and effective way of doing business to attract more customers or consumers to help them make more profits. Sometimes it is out of their leaflets that we customers go into the shops and supermarkets and restaurants and such to have a look at their products and services that we make a decision to buy this or that if we are interested in it. Take care, youless.

Hi youless! Oh, I do take the leaflets all the time if it is being handed to me. I do share the same feeling as you towards them. I am pretty sure that they are tired and it is nice to help in some way. And so I accept all those leaflets/flyers and I just put them in my bag and browse at them when I get home. If I need them, I will keep them and if not will just throw them at the trash. Take care always. lovelots..faith210

Hi there You less. i would take it of course as i have done something similar a few years back ( i gathered signatures for the return of Romanian troops from Iraq as that was not our war) and i know how it feels to be totally ignored by people passing by. I think that even if people don't want to take the leaflets they may at least look at the person that is handing it to them, as those are not beggars and they deserve a little more respect.

I wouldn't take it unless i have no choice as it was forced on me. Most leaflets i took went into the bin anyways.. can't help thinking what a waste of paper handing out leaflets.
