I just read this notice from one of the news sites I subscribe too. "Richardson withdraws bid to be commerce secretary (AP)" So it made me think about all of the various corrupt secrets that are potentially coming to light as a result of the this recent past election. With the automobile companies in high knee deep trouble, and the gas prices potentially getting taxed soon, since the prices have been dropping drastically. Does any one have a real clue what is going on and most importantly how to fix the challenges we all face these days?

I honestly do not believe that anyone can get us out of this mess that we are in.. Until greed and corruption are no longer a part of the picture, there is no real answers.. I am not sure there is anyone who is 100% qualified to run the country without overspending, overtaxing, nepotism, and corruption, even if we don't see it, it is there.. I believe that every politician is either bought off or in the process of being bought off.. Too many of the friends of the politicians have jobs in our government and the only qualification they possess is being a friend, they know nothing except they are friends with people in high places.. The same goes for family, if you have a family member in government, you can be assured of a job.. If your father was the president, then you know your politics, get a job with the government.. There is way too much mismanagement of the taxpayers money and they are only spending more and more, money that we can't afford to spend.. If each and every one of us run our household the way the government runs theirs, we would never get out of trouble.. There are people more qualified to run our country but they are not "in the Limelight", they couldn't get elected no matter what, they are unknown.. I can almost safely say, there are people on Mylot who have a better grasp of what is going on than our politicians do.. I do not have the confidence in our government officials that, I, as an American should have.. I am not talking down on our government, even if it sounds like I am, but I do know one thing for sure, I would love to have confidence in our government and our elected officials.. This is a confidence they will have to inspire in all of the citizens of the USA, I wish they would do it.. We have a great country, even with all of it's flaws, it is still the best place to be, I would not want to live in any other country..

I know that God is in control of every situation in the Universe, and I don't put my faith in men, but God will not turn everything around as long as the people do not ask Him, or even think of Him.. The world would be a much better place if everyone would turn to God, but I don't see it happening.. God has gave us the free will to do as we will but when our government is comprised of corrupt people, and they care more for money than for their fellow country men or even God, then there is no help for us as a nation, only as individuals who believe in the wonders that God can perform.. I would love to see the world turning back to God, but I thought this discussion was pertaining to government, I do know that God is in control and I do know of the wonders that he can work for us, but so many people do not know or do not care.. I turn to my God in every situation, as he is the only one that I can trust to do what is right in every situation..

Interesting response. Too many Americans would like to put their trust in man, rather than putting the trust in the God. All we can do as a people is pray that the people that are in office now will heed God's word and be lead by his spirit. As I am confident that God knows exactly what do to to turn the entire situation around. Let us be prayerful that someone will heed his leading, even if he or she may or may not be in office, yet. God is a just God, and he wouldn't allow his people to continue to struggle; which is why we so desperately need to put our trust back into him whence cometh all of our help. After all he is the one who made this planet, I am confident as I am sure you are that God knows exactly how to get someone out of a mess. He is the master of all masterpieces, and he is more than qualified to make a wrong RIGHT.

I agree with most of what you said. The prayer that we have been praying for the new president coming into office is that we pray that the hand of God be upon him and that is isn't he that changes the office, rather allow the office to change him. Yes God has given us free will, but he also instructs us to pray for our leaders.

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. The corruption that is showing up was hinted at during the election. President-elect Obama may not be directly involved with any of it, but the people he chose to associate with were. How long before the taint reaches him? As for solving the problems at hand? I don't think anyone has a clue what to do. For most, stemming the blood flow would be a good start. You can't do that by taxing people who are losing their jobs and bailing out every John Doe who has a hand out. Everyone talks about stimulating the economy, but it's like Twain said "Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it." There is no real plan. And with corruption reaching the highest offices in the land, there is little doubt that our elected officials don't have our best interest at heart. For right now, I think stopping spending, leaving taxes as-is and rewarding business for success is the only way to go. Let the chaff fall.

If more people paid attention to God, a lot of our problems would be solved. So, I hope, along with you, that our prayers will be heard and what is best for the people of this country will come in the near future. If not, then God have mercy on us all.

With the pace of the world growing on and on the challenges in front of us are growing day in and day out. We really need to run very fast to be with the pace. We need to stay focused and relaxed to succeed in life.

I don't think it's time to relax, but the focus part I agree with. Thanks for your post.

You know that is a very interesting question because what do we know about the people that we have elected to run our country? I know that all I know about any of the politicans that were elected is what the Liberal News Media has told me. I do not know about anyone else, but they seem to put the Democrats negatives in a positive light and no matter what the Republicans do it is always negative. So hopefully someone along the way can figure out how to fix the nations problems. However, who knows what the future may hold. Hopefully God will show his mercy on our nation and help us in these tough times.
