What is the number after mylotters' names?

Is it simply the number of posts you make or is it more complicated? I am asking as I think I have made quite a few more posts than the number after my name but I haven/t yet worked it out. Have you?

It represents the number of discussions you have started and or responded to and added comments to is all. Members can lose those points due to their discussions or others discussions they responded/commented in get deleted as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
