Do have friends in real life, who also spend time online??? If so, simply focus on a niche - that is common point of interest for all of your friends, and create a website. When you say grow quickly do you mean to make the website have many visitors? If yes, I don't think there is a fast solution to this because you have to establish regular readers and attract new readers as well. I was looking at a successful blogger's site and he revealed that it took him almost 3 years to have more than 1 million hits and about 4,000 subscribers. I did see one blog that made 1 million hits in a month but that blog was about scandal and gossip.

i dont have made my site or blog, but if u want the traffic to your site, u will need to join some traffic exchange sites, where u get visitors for as much sites as u visit of others, also u can take help of the orkut, myspace kind of community sites, if u are a memebr there.
