Do you think that we should fight for religion

Religion should teach love and tolerance .These are concepts that would help to bring us together rather than separate us .It there fore leads me wonder if what we call religion today is really a true religion if they in fact teaches us to fight irrespective of what are the premises are. There is no premise which justify fighting one another. However, sometimes it is not the religion which teaches persons to fight ,it is the interpretation of this religion. Many persons get their interpretation of their religion from religious leaders who often seek to distort the religion for their own selfish means.
