We are selfish, dishonest......

I saw a man yesterday who was working hard to earn his meals. He was just wearing a thin shirt and pull us. I wore a heavy cloth as it was very cold outside. The man was a rickshaw puller. We hired him only for 5 taka (6 cents) to us about 1 kilometer.
We were trembling on cold but he still made us go with trembling. We never think about them. They hardly can afford their family. Their children cannot go to school because of poverty. We just get the benefits of their working. We never understand that he is a man, he requires human needs just as we do. Because we are CIVILIZED, we are selfish and dishonest.
I think those men who treat the poor like that have no right to live in the world. I should do something for those poor heads. Can you tell me what should I do?

He should be gifted for his work. But do you know what we do? We just rebuke him for his drive and use slang. So What do you think now?

Well I know what I wanted to do when I was little and that was to get boxes full of clothing's that I did not wear anymore, even food that sits in the cupboard and take blankets to poor.I told my hubby about this plan of mine and he said that when we get more stabled that we can start traveling and give to the poor even if it is in our local area. I feel that people should help even if it could be a couple dollars or even gloves or what ever else that would help because either way the people will feel blessed and grateful that there is humans that still care.

Thank you so much for the best response. I so think it is ashamed that people forget and I'm glad that I never forgot, I can't wait till I get to start helping.

Many people had plans just like you in their childhood. But when they grew older the forget all. But I agree with you that there are still good people in the world.
