Anyone ever wonder how many websites are actually in existence?

I wonder if there are any stats I can get on the internet--how many sites are in existence, how many new sites are created each day or year, or which sites generate the most traffic. I am sure there are millions of sites out there--but just how many?

Well I guess there's no one yet who made that attempt to really count the numbers and I guess there are so many right now that includes blogs and many other sites. I guess it is really very hard to keep track of it as there are many hosts out there throughout the world right now.

I guess it would be kind of difficult to keep track of all the numbers--especially with all the blogs and "sub-websites" (the ones like myblog.blogspot.com, which is a sub-site of blogspot.com). By including these, we'd probably be tracking billions of sites.

Well I think there are too many sites to count or be placed into a number. I think that the number would be so great and long in writing that it would have no end.....

Yes! It would be nice to know how many are actually are in exsistence but we probably will never be able to find this out as there is so many being created and deleted every second.
Maybe in a few years they will develope some system to count and keep note of them all as I have wondered this myself before and it would be nice to know exact figures.

Hi Reeta02, I even wondering this because even if I know how many sites yesterday, today it'll be new websites. Have you ever wondered how many websites created everyday.
