I'm a huge Stephen King fan and The Shining is one of my favorite books-well,after It,Talisman and Duma Key
I read the book as a teenager in parents home while being all cozy in a rocking chair and I thought that I wouldn't mind a job like that. Live in a nice hotel with beautiful scenery,no rent, food provided... Doesn't seem like there is much to do except living your life and waiting till spring-maybe some small maintenance tasks and that's all. That's without ghosts and moving hedge lol
On the other hand,I'd go crazy if I was all by myself for three months and if I took my family we would all end up with cabin fever.
What are your thoughts of that?
By the way,the movie was great! Stanley Kubrick and Jack Nicholson couln't have done it better

I can't say that I've seen the movie or read the book, my life is quite dramatic enough, who needs fiction when your non-fiction is so... How do you say? Exasperating? That might be a good word for the description of my life now lonely like the Hotel you described... This life is rather as you say crazy putting you on the brink of cabin fever...
So I went out to go ice skating and the red flag was up, no can do at the local skating area...
So I went to a place I know about and was mentioned that yesterday there were people skating on this lake... Sure enough there were people there and they were fishing and two guys had designed these Ice sleds that are wind powered... Now that was neat I watched them set up and talked with them about their prototypes... Really cool and then I talked with the fishermen and came back where the guys with the Sail sleds were now a group of three the spouse of one of the guys had come to their first sledding adventure of this their 5th or 6th season. So I talked with her as I didn't want to be the only skater and after sharing with her for oh' I don't know 2 maybe 2 and a half hours, I went back over to the Skating arena to see if the red flag had been removed, not yet but there were people violating the no trespassing rule and sign... They can do that, I think in my current state of litigation I would not want any more interaction with the police as a result I could be the one and only person ending up in hot water.
I don't like to get burned, especially on a cold day like today.
So to say specifically I do not like being on my own, and I think it would be great to be able to share my life with someone who is willing to share their life with me.
You know give and give, two people working together as a team.
Hey' I'm human and I have dreams...
Peace and Blessings,
Sincerely,
Gary

If you don't mind my asking, how bad is your current state of litigation?
Noone wants to be alone, that's not in human nature. I like to be by myself but definitely not in a huge empty hotel with no one around.

Does which case answer your question?
I have three, all at one time and all related.
The first case is Federal, I'm suing the Commonwealth for over a million dollars.
The second case is County, the one lawyer has a conflict of interest as he had done some work for me and has refused my involvement with this case that involves my Grandmother who is being abused by my Step-mother. I requested an investigation and the Judge who has a conflict of interest from a long time ago and doesn't even know that we have an issue from way back when hasn't responded to my last letter of complaint and request for injunction and order for protection.
The third case is my pending Divorce as my wife doesn't communicate with me and we can not build bridges to understanding she uses our children as weapons to hurt me emotionally and financially.
Some people say that I need a lawyer,
I would love to have legal representation but the lawyer has to be qualified to handle complex litigation that involves challenging State Authorities and Judges of the Commonwealth along with Medical malpractice in the field of Mental Health.
Most lawyers won't even touch these issues let alone get involved in such complex cases.
The other issues that take this case into the Jurisdiction of the Federal Government are the violations to my Federal Constitutional Rights.
If you read through some of my discussions that I've responded to you will see that I understand a lot of aspects of the laws of our country.
Your post about writing, speaking or singing, it made me smile, another one of your posts...
Thank You,
And obviously I didn't mind you asking... :)

You mean like the job jack Nicholson's character had in the film watching over that creepy out of the way hotel no way because that hotel was in the middle of no where, they couldn't even call for help when all that ghostly stuff started to happen, I mean I know its just a movie but I wouldnt want to take any chances, LOL.

I know, but what if there were no ghosts? Well,I guess being on your own for so long with no way of contacting the outside world would cause hallucinations so I'd end up in a funny farm anyway

Hello AnakSuNamun, I have read many Stephen King novels and those you have listed are gooood I have read them. One of his best books, in my opinion, is called " The Stand " . If you decide to read it get the unabridged edition, It's his original form of the novel. When it went to print the first time the publishers made him cut out quite a bit of it for it was too long in their minds. After awhile he had the money to have it printed as he intended. That is the version I read. I know you have probably seen the movie but please partake in the read. There is so much detail that they couldn't ever get into a movie, your imagination gets so much more from the book. I agree with you about Jack Nicholson nobody does that character better than he. There was a remake of it with the guy from "Wings" and Rebecca D"morny was his wife...I think that was the cast... can't remember who played the son but it will never top the original. You should also check out Salems Lot, The Tommyknockers, Needful Things, The Cell and there's a series called The Darks Towers that are all awesome reads. Enjoy these and happy reading...Mamablaze!!
