When you drink, do you perceive people as more attractive or more interesting, one or the other, neither? I don't think that I do, but I watched one of those mythbuster things the other day and they did an experiment. Based on their results, I do think some people do lose their inhibitions significantly enough to decide someone is attractive buzzed or drunk that they would never look at twice sober lol. Have any personal experiences to share?

Usually drinking just makes me sleepy. And I don't think people look better to me from drinking. But sometimes if I kind of feel like doing something I'm normally not too comfortable with, if I've had a few drinks I might do it. But it will never make me do something that I don't want to do at all.

Power of suggestion? Sometimes I think being buzzed or drunk is a little like being hypnotized, you're more 'suggestible' but you wouldn't do something that completely went against your better judgement and core parts of your personality. I have seen some peoople completely change when drunk BUT in some ways it makes me think the person is really like that rather than quiet (if they are super quiet when they are sober/normal). For instance... I don't usually dance in public except for the slow dance variety. If I've had a few drinks AND there are other people dancing, I will. I've tested the theory though, if NOBODY else is dancing, I won't go out and start a trend lol. I need company before I'll make a fool of myself.

OH! And when I was younger (early 20s) if I drank too much I'd get sleepy. These days if I drink too much it depends on my environment. If I'm at home with my hubby apparently I climb all over him . If I'm out with girl friends I have a good time, I'm loud. Except for a trip to vegas over a year ago, I keep it under control since I don't like feeling sick....

Well yea but this is a long time ago. Me and a friend used to go to this bar every Friday and Saturday night and there was this one woman that was rather large and unattractive. We used to refer to her as the - drunk-0-meter. When she was attractive we were good and drunk. I know sad but hey when your young and dumb.

Hehe.. how 'young and dumb' were ya? You don't mind that I ask, do you? Life happens, I mean there are some funny things I did when I was younger too, including discussing going skydiving with some friends the morning after we all drank too muuch. Turns out we overslept and missed the skydiving.

Hey mommyboo! I guess that when you do drink you do lose most senses! They definitely become more dulled and you tend to do things that you mostly wouldn't do if you were sober that's for sure! I am sure that most people have done things that they never would have done if they weren't drunk including be with someone that they met when they were drunk! So, yes I do believe that drinking might make someone "look better". but watch out because when you sober up and take another look you might be in for the shock of your life and you might have to run for the hills!

Ugh, mylot ate my response. I don't even remember what all I had written - except that when I was single people seemed to assume if they got me to drink it would work out in their favor. I wonder why, I don't lose ALL my inhibitions . I also have some standards and they are the same whether I'm sober, buzzed, or drunk.

I dont have personal experiences to share but I do have a tendency to speak my mind when I have been drinking and sometimes I am not to nice about it. Its amazing how brave you get when you get a few in you.

I am braver, certainly, but I am brave anyway. Once my friend and I were out having a couple drinks and this crazy chick across the bar started saying all sorts of creepy things to us as if she'd been stalking us and I almost attacked her I was so mad! I was basically defending my friend in the process, I could not sit on my hands!
