There are about 20 days for Chinese new year which is very important traditional festival for Chinese. Children will receive many gifts from adults (their parents, grandpartens and eldership). But rencently years it is very popular to give money to children instead of practicality. Do you think money is the best gift for children?

I know it's our tradition to give children red pocket money in the Chinese New Year. However, I never think the money is the best gift for them. As sometimes children will use the money in a wrong way. And they think they will get the money easily and they don't have to study hard or work hard. This is wrong.
I love China

I agree with you. But usually I don't know buy what for my niece and nephew so give them money. I know these money are controlled by my sister and sister in law in the end.
I control my son's money received in these days. I hope he knows it is not easy to earn money and he should do something for the money.

Well in my opinion that depends on the children ages. If they tend to spend their money of smoking or drinking than no. If they're little kids than no because very young children have not yet learnt the value of a dollar and a gift is always a welcomed surprize. Just my opinion.

Yes, I agree with you.
But money really is the laziest way for adults. They would not like to spend much time on selecting a gift and they give this right to the children or their parents.
