If you are one, you won't need an explanation. For anybody looking for something new, this is an excellent band! The last cd released was 'New Surrender' (2008) but my favorite is probably 'Cities' (2007). I'd describe the sound as 'rock edgy' but the lead singer has a voice just made for ballads, he is incredible.
I think I might be obsessed! Anybody else get like this about music that speaks to them?

I love Anberlin and found them through a music video on TVU Music Television a long, long time ago. Then I saw the video of "Paperthin Hymm" on YouTube and then I went to Target and bought their CD, then after I got an Ipod I've bought New Surrender and am saving up for their new album. it comes out day before my birthday too.

I've heard some of Anberlin's stuff, but not enough that I would call myself a "fan". I liked what I heard, but then I never really tried to find any more of their stuff than what I quickly found on youtube. So you think it's worth it that I check them out properly? Maybe I will... Hm

Well, I have a story that goes along with my discovery of them, but I will spare you it, it's long and bittersweet.
I mostly found everything via youtube and their own site and then I was able to look at the cds. Blueprints for the Black Market was the first album (2003), Never Take Friendship Personal (2005), Cities (2007) and New Surrender (2008). I'm not sure if there's going to be a new one this year but I'd expect something new soon.
They do a nice cover of 'Love Song' (originally the Cure) and a cover of Enjoy the Silence (Depeche Mode). I can't seem to get enough right now.
