Do you order the same dish everytime you eat out? Leave tips for good service?

I used to work as a waiter for several years. I'd have regular customers come in all the time, and I always know exactly what to bring them to drink as well as what they were going to order. My memory served me quite well when it came to tips.
Sitting here thinking about life in general, how often do you go out to eat, and do you order the same dish every time. Also, do you leave a good tip for good service?

I always order something different. And I usually eat at different restaurants. I get bored with the same old thing all the time.
My tips are generally at the 20 percent range if the service is quite good. I may give up to 25 percent if the service is amazing. 15% I'll give for decent service. 10% is if they didn't come to refill my drink.
Once the waitress was extremely rude to me. She literally treated me worse than some people who hate me have treated me. Now she may have just had a terrible day, or her boyfriend may have broken up with here. Whatever it was, I didn't care, as there was no excuse to be at work in a service industry on a day when you have that attitude. I thought about just not leaving a tip and talking to the manager. Instead, I left the manager out of it, but gave her a 13 cent tip to make my point.

Wow, I used to get the folks that were screwed up by another waiter's poor service. You should have spoken to a manager, it's only how service can be improved. If a manager isn't ever made aware, and the problem truly is with the bad waiter, then it's like you are wishing you bad service on your worst enemy because you never reported him/her.
Good managers would give you a discount on your meal, great managers would have bought your meal, addressed the employee appropriately and would have given you some sort of an incentive to return. I'm not pointing this out so that you can get a discounted or free meal or that should be your intent. I'm just saying that don't just allow poor service to go undressed, even if you don't ever return to that restaurant's branch.

I am a creature of habit, and tend to order the same thing everytime I go to a restaurant. I always tip well for good service.

Habits are okay if they truly benefit you.
Thanks for responding.

I am bad about going to a restaraunt and ordering the same thing. I just get into this habit because I like what I've ordered and it's usually something that I don't get at home so I always order it. Sometimes I break from the routine and try something different but that doesn't happen all the time.

When I used to eat out often I would order the same thing. Now that I don't eat out as much I am willing to try new things. Why waste an evening out eating something I have had a million times before----or worse, something I can have at home? I ALWAYS tip well for good service. The service has to be horrible for them not to get a tip....and even then I will still tip, but I will make a complaint to the management.
