Greatest Hockey Games

Canada

I've always been a fan of junior hockey. The OHL and WHL of the Canada Hockey League have been my favourites to watch. They produce a lot of classics and the action is never boring. Which is why, to me, the World Junior Hockey Championships have always been a place to catch some of the greatest hockey games ever played. While I think my feelings on the last couple games would be different if I was on the other side of things, the last two games played by Team Canada have arguably been some of the best hockey games I've ever seen. The game against USA on New Years Eve was an instant classic and the game Saturday night against Russia exceeded that. My heart dropped when the Russians scored with two minutes left. I inched to the edge of my seat when the Russians iced the puck with less than 30 seconds left and I tore this place apart when the Canadians tied it up with 5 seconds remaining. Tonight they play for Gold in what should be another great game against Sweden but I feel we have already been treated to some of the greatest hockey games ever played, and back to back no less. It also plays to some of the best individual performances. Jaroslav Janik of Slovakia put on a clinic to eliminate USA in the quarter-finals. A performance that compares to very few. For those of you who haven't watch be sure to watch the Bronze and Gold medal games today and be sure to tune in next year to some of the most exciting and intense hockey you will ever see. And to think, those performing are just kids, aged 17-21.

I should probably look up a stream of it cause I would like to see it. Sucks that US channels don't show such things, yet I can watch the World Cup of Soccer and such. I have heard that Traveres's stock has dropped due to his overall proformance. I know he had the Highlight reel goal but he is expected to be a superstar in the NHL not just another really good player. Sorry if I spelled his name wrong, I am being lazy and didnt look it up. I look for Canada vs Sweden to be the best game, and would have said that before the tournment started. It is becoming almost as big of rivalary as Canada vs Soviet Union once was in 70's
