have you ever dropped a hand mirror?

As I was preparing for work one morning, I dropped a hand mirror, and it went crashing to the floor. The pieces were everywhere. When I stooped down to pick them up, the phrase "seven years" immediately went through my head.
Now, I’m not a person who believes in luck, good or bad. The phrase probably came to mind because it's one I've heard all my life--"seven years of bad luck." But instead of finishing it, I heard a still, small voice say, "Don't look back," then "Press on!"
have you ever dropped a hand mirror?

So many times! And it took me great trouble to clear the mess without being hurt. I usually use dough balls to clear the smaller particles. You just be careful. I do not believe in bad luck and stuffs like that. I think, its just our carelessness that needs to be taken care of.

I did not mean that. Sometimes, we are just being unmindful and that's it!

Hello okwusman1,
I can't really remember whether I have ever dropped a hand mirror before. But when I read the topic, my mind quick to relate it to 'bad luck'. I don't believe in this but I heard before that it isn't a good sign. Lets not bother about it. Wish you all the good things!

We believe that too. A seven years bad luck will befall anyone who dropped and broke mirror (any mirror). Maybe this is universal truth. I have never dropped a hand mirror before (touch wood) but still lady luck does not smile at me. If you don't believe it, it will not happen to you. Have faith in God and bad luck will not befall upon you.

Oh, these superstitions! I hope you don't really believe in that seven years of bad luck thing. I have never broken a mirror in my life, but I have broken loads of glasses, which is worse than breaking a mirror, considering the fact that I received a heavy scolding from my mother for breaking them.
Cheers and happy Mylotting

I have tired dropped hand mirrors but for some odd reason nothing bad ever happened to me. Those seven years things a just myths. If that myth ever happened to me every time I dropped the mirror I would be the most unlucky person in all the world. However it's the complete opposite. I have a lot of good luck. And I'm extremely blessed. Just today I had a case of very good luck and I dropped a mirror about two weeks ago.

Yes but it didn't break. I broke a big one and didn't get bad luck but then didn't have great luck as well. Maybe canceled each other out. YOu have a great day.

I have broken mirrors before in my 50 years of life and have thought of the saying also. I am not superstitious so I have just cleaned up the restaurant.

Ho okwusman,
I have dropped so many mirrors in my lifetime that I could remember the total of them. I think that people would say 'seven years bad luck' because originally, mirrors were very expensive and it would be catastrophic if one broke. I am not superstitious and I really have no explanation of what wqas said to you. Blessings

oh yes I did, especially when I'm in a hurry, even if I'm still careful there are times, I drop what I'm bringing... so, now, I ask for my kids' help to get the other things that I'm bringing so that accidents would be avoided like dropping them from my hands.
