A childs brain is still learning and it is easily swade to violence easpecially if it is on a repetative basis like in video game, some symptoms are migraines, lazyness, out burts of violence.

isnt there already enough violence our children ar - how does your child react??
i think this one depends on the individual child and their age.. some children would be more affected by these games and some aren't,.. only a child's parent can really be the one to judge..you also may want to look at what TYPE of violence is in the game you are thinking about getting!.. is it life like or is it shoot the bad guy? graphics can also play a role as to the extent of violence a game contains .. some signs that you may want to look for to see what type of games are suitable for your children are; (other than your child's age of course)(age appropriate content is usually listed on the games' box~!) 1. does your child follow your directions? or tend to not do what you ask? 2. does your child often or EVER mimic things that they see on television? 3. does your child seem like they are ever violent WITHOUT the video games? (hitting, pushing other children etc.?) 4. does your child demonstrate any behavior ( before playing any games) that could be considered harmful to his/her own or other childrens health? 5. does your child have any history of seizure or any epilepsy? if you answered yes to any of these.. you may want to think twice before allowing your child to play these types of games..BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!!!.. lol.. just say no!.. there are other things im sure that may make you want to deter you from allowing your child to play violent games.. HOWEVER a parents "gut" feeling can often be the biggest reason to allow or disallow these games in your home.. and just because they dont demonstrate any of the behaviors listed.. doesnt mean that they SHOULD be able to play! .. YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY OUT THE GAME YOURSELF! .. and if you think its too harsh!.. it probably is! buy them a bike instead! (theyre alot cheaper than most the systems and games out there anyways!!)

I think the violence dilutes the child's sense of right from wrong and can cause then to do things with little or no remorse thinking it is safe and -like the game-no one gets hurt.

It all depends on the child. A mentally healthy child? Nope, it's not going to do anything to them. Mentally healthy children can understand the difference between fantasy and reality and realize that video game violence isn't real. Video game violence doesn't hurt anyone. Real violence does. Kids who understand right from wrong and the fact that hurting people is wrong aren't going to be influenced by the games. A mentally unhealthy child? It very well could. If they are already predisposed to having difficulty grasping reality from fantasy and right from wrong? There could very well be a problem. But the predisposition has to already be there.

i thing it depends on how secure the child is with himself. my kids do play some violent videos games, but they understand it is just a game. and they don't act bad by playing it.

Yes I think it does. If they are very young, they are impressionable. That is how other cultures get their men to kill them selves for their country. It's a brainwashing.
