i am referring to children studing.
My son and daughter are in school, and i've told them they need to put in at least 2 hours for studing only. this is beside the time they need for homework or projects. Is it too much i am asking of them? because they are constantly grumbling when it comes to study time.

How old are your son and daughter? Are they still in elementary school? Well, I think two hour study for elementary school students are actually too much, as they still need to spend some time to do their homework or projects. Perhaps an hour to study is good enough, also it depends on how much time they have spent on homework and projects. Sometimes if projects take up too much time, then I don't think it's good to ask them to study anymore when they are tired.
I think kids should play more!

yes it is too much, most children study before exams and then that is different doing their homework is sufficient on a daily basis, and studying during exam time,
you don't want to make them hate school.

If you mean two hours a day then I do think that is way too long. After a full day of school then home work I am sure they are so tired of it. I also think it depends on the child. I have three grown children and each of them were all different when they were in school. My youngest daughter never had to study much at all and she was a straight A student and my other two could study all day long and still not do that well in school, they would pass but barely.

Is that per week or per day? How many hours per day are they at school? How much homework do they get? It all depends on a total, really.

i think they are doing fine.. just make them to use the time n quality... i mean.. it is better to finish a chapter or something like that.. than the number of hours.. in that way they put good effort and finish that chaptor and go out and play... if you keep the number of hours.. they have to sit but cant concentrate.. thank you
