Are menthol cigarettes just as bad as other cigarettes?

I'm curious to know if there is any difference at all, because some people say they are better to smoke, while others say that the risk of lung cancer is even higher with menthol cigarettes.
So tell me now - is there any difference? Are menthol cigarettes better?
