why soccer isn't a popular topic in mylot?

I think it's the topography. I think there is a fair number of Filipinos here in myLot and Soccer is not a very popular sport in our country - the same may apply with other members. Or maybe because there are so many "Interests" that people are so thinly divided that even though there are actually more people interested in soccer that you have observed, they just choose to discuss other matters :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

yep, many people are not interested in football discussion over here. this is because, when you look at mylot population. there are about 62,000 American and 42,000 Indians over here out of 157,000. this means they are about 60 to 70 percent from these two country's. in india cricket is most loved and admired. people go crazy about cricket. in america people are crazy about baseball,nfl,golf....etc.so, naturally people interested in football or people from football loving nations are lesser in number. so, naturally people interested in football discussion are also less.this might be one of the major reason.

Maybe there are lots of women on this site which do not like soccer. Americans prefer American football tahn soccer. Perhaps football fans use other forums to discuss soccer and do not come here to discuss soccer.

I know and isnt it great?? lol, no talk of that rotten game all the time!! I dont mind soccer/football at all and will watch certain games but I am just glad that it is not a common topic on here, a few have tried to talk about it but I think that because it is a global place sports vary from place to place so it is hard to get common ground on the same teams and such, I think, dont know for sure though!!

I have enjoyed discussions about footy on Mylot, but unlike several other sites, its not the be all and end all. There are so many people, with so many interests on here, its good to get a broader range of subjects.

maybe because here are a lot of americans and they don't relly like it. i'm from switzerland and here everybody talks about football/soccer. i like american football better but we dont have a team around. so i play soccer :P

I think it depend on the location. Although, myLot is a world wide forum. It still has distribution for different country. I don't know the distribution in myLot. But I think it is one of the reason. Moreover, myLot have seperated soccer into different kinds of league. I think some of the member just add their favour league as their interest. It also is one of the reason. HaPpY MyLoTtInG!
