what is a true friend???

hmmmm.... true friend, is there anything in the english dictionary or the book of life that can really tell us what a "true friend" is? i have tried defining it myself so many times..... with so many different friends of mine but have all the time failed consistently and really havent given up yet, is true friend a best friend? had best friends.... which were hardly best..... but true friend is the one that helps you or is there when you need him the most aint it? but i havent had or rather come across any such friend of mine that i can say has always been there when i needed him..... not always..... and now what is the defination of always? how can anyone be there for you all the time you are in need of somone? would you be there for your friends all the time when they needed you? dont we have our own problems in life that we have to solve...on our own.... thats when the defination of a true friend changes.....

Exactly as what you have described. It is really hard to find a true friends. There is a saying that goes.. "smile and world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone". When someone is there for you no matter what and stand for you all the time with support never wanting anything in return, then I would say you are lucky. Lucky because you have found a friend. A true friend is someone who is there doing it already rather than asking you... What can I do?

A true friend is the one who never forgets you and your name, who is always there to help you in any problem and who doesn't backbite you. Who is trustful and share your secrets.

For me a true friend is someone: who would listen to you even if your screaming. who would forgive you. who accepts you for who you are. who does not need to be told that you need him/her. who would push you to the right path and grabs you when you fall. who is loyal. who is honest. and most of all someone who stays with you even if you become impossible to deal with. So easy to describe what a true friend is but so hard to find.
