Hi there! I really enjoy photography. I've been too busy to take any formal courses or workshops even if I wanted to. Most of them usually take whole weekends and that's my only time to rest. For now, photography is just a hobby. I wanted to make it my profession but I don't think that's going to happen.

I've tried learning. I have a photographer friend who helps me out but I don't really have that much time. Hopefully in the future I can really study photography. Thanks!

Hi, friend.
Even as a small girl, I was always fond of taking pictures using the family's Minolta camera; which is obsolete now. I even thought I was going to be a professional photographer someday; however, it didn't turn out to be that way, but that's another story.
Anyway, I'm also an amateur photographer like you. If I'm not mistaken, I had a couple of cameras but unfortunately, they are both broken or irrepairable now. I still want to take pictures now, either of nature's beauty or of loved ones on occasions. In fact, buying a digital camera is already included in my plans. But as for now, I guess this hobby has to rest for some time since I have other duties and responsibilities as a wife and mom to my own family.
Further, I'm still in the process of paying off all our outstanding financial obligations. Hopefully, my spouse and I will be able to realize these tiny dreams of ours in the near future.
I sincerely wish that this year of the Earth Ox (2009) will be happier and more successful for both of us, friend. Take care.

Hi ammie
I am a amatuer photographer. I take random shots and retain the best of the lot. That's where digital cam comes in handy. It's my passion and even though I am not good at it I do love to capture precious moments.

Hello ammie. I am a lover of photography, but I am not a professional, but an amateur only. I have taken thousands of photos ever since I got my first camera, but I enjoy more of my two latest digital cameras due to their convenience and effectiveness. Here is one of the photos that I took years ago for you to enjoy. The background you see in the photo is a scenic spot in our local place. You see a man walking on a rope from one side of the rope to the other over a big pond. He was just walking in the middle when I took the shot and I love this photo very much.
Whenever I travel somewhere, I bring with me my digital camera to take some photos that means a lot to me. I love taking photos as they can always remind me of what I have done and where I have been. Photos are like reminders to me. I wish you happy taking photos, dear ammie.

I'm not into photography so all I have is a good point and shoot camera. I don't like people who act like they're professional photographer and call themselves "aspiring photographers" just because they shoot at whatever they could and just because they can afford the camera. It's all too mainstream and lacks character :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I love photography. I just bought my first SLR camera in August, it is a Canon Rebel EOS XSI. Manual settings are the key to a successful photo and I love being able to capture my perception of life, through my viewfinder. You can see a lot of my work at www.jpgmag.com/dannayzay
