Religion seems like a story these days that got really popular amongst the people and each and everybody has his or her own version of it. The only thing here is that people are very serious about it and if one does not believe in the other persons religion he is commanded a disbeliever and is to be looked down upon and what not. It is to me the number one cause of death and disputes around the world. there maybe or maybe not an eternal life or a heaven or a hell but why are people so determined that what they believe is the right way and others will go to hell.

No. Not religion. It's SELFISHNESS that causes disputes everywhere.

I do not think it is the Religion which causes disputes in today's world . Each religion teaches us to be More Human , Kind,Generous , Truthful and Honest . It is the Greedy , Selfish and Dishonest people all over the world who distort religious teachings and spread false propaganda all over to mislead the people . They spread hatred and cause fights and wars .
If all the people are alert and educated , they would not be easily misled .

Here's a nice quote from James Miller:
"True religion
Is always mild, propitious, and humble,
Plays not the tyrant, plants no faith in blood;
Nor bears destruction on her chariot-wheels;
But stoops to polish, succor, and redress,
And builds her grandeur on the public good."
Beautiful reflections and happy MyLotting!

That is certainly a good question, but I don't think so. I will not say that religion isn't a point of disput among people. I do believe that religion is used as a blanket though. It's brought out to the attention to cloud people to what is really going on around them.
Kind of like if you keep a crowd busy over there, they don't notice what's going on over there. I also see it being brought back around again and again as an issue to cover up another. Since religion is such a hot ticket, people tend to jump on it instead of sit back and see why the smoke screen was pulled to begin with.

well ya i think that religion is the main cause of disputes all around the world because many peoples wants that all should follow their religion in the world but i dont like this is that there should be different religion in the world but the thinking of the people should remain constant
