Philippine's Fear Factor show beginning to act inhuman

Challenges in Pinoy Fear Factor is beginning to look like a "hell on earth"atleast on their eating challenges, I don't think eating alive rat is part of treating the players well, I mean it is very inhuman, why the production won't just let them eat cultured worms, or other exotic animals or atleast boil the rat than let them eat it alive. The only people who eat that way are those stranded in an island with no help in the outside world. The show is painstakingly gruesome and I don't like watching it anymore. Why Kapamilya allow that kind of challenge?

Yes, I do agree, rats and cockroaches are the dirtiest creatures in the planet, infact, DOH even warned people to be careful during floods because the urine of rats can give many fatal diseases, how much more eat the rat and is alive, even if it skinned it still alive..gruesome very gruesome, after that episode last night, I vowed not to watch that show anymore. Though I love other challenges, eating rat is simply inhuman and I cannot bear it.

ofcourse those are cultured rats. do you really think the production would let them do the challenge if it will be harmful for them and if it is not safe? they are testing the will of the player not their resistance to disease.

It's not that I hate that show because I watch it from time to time. I just hate parts when they are putting too much drama into it. Come on, it isn't a telenovela or what. I just hate it when shows, game shows or reality shows specifically, use and play with the emotions of their contestants just to increase viewers' number and show's rating. And yeah, some challenges aren't to beat fear because some are too gross and even the bravest man will really have second thoughts on doing it.

Yes, I do agree. Why Philippine television put too much hoopla on reality shows. I hated the portion when show like Fear Factor treated their players as merely objects of their ratings.

Well the live rat was just to challenge the contestant. It was not a live one but rather skinned rat and not alive anymore. But what is gruesome I guess is that its not cooked or something. I guess the taste is not as bad as it seem except of course the taste of raw meat must be disgusting enough to see. Well I guess that is what is fear factor is all about.

Eww, you sure it wasn't cooked? I thought it was cooked. :( Anyway, some Filipinos in the provinces do eat rats. But the Pinoy Fear Factor is definitely beginning to be freakish.

I'm feeling the same way as you are. I've been a big fan of fear factor US edition and I have never seen any episodes where the contestants are asked to eat something alive except for worms and other creepy crawlers. It's really cannibalistic.

Although the show's main objective is to test how are can you go to conquer your fears, i think there has to be a limit ... although the US version of the show can be as gruesome !

They allow that kind of challenge because it is FEAR FACTOR. Yes it could cause discomfort to some viewers but it is the concept of FEAR FACTOR, conquering your fear. In my opinion, the management would not compromise the safety of its contestants. Besides, they have the option to eat the rat or not.

i think that is what fear factor is all about. if yu will watch the foreign version of it is is also gross. they will let contenders eat magots and worms and rotten foods. food that has discolorate already. they know from the start that those challenges will come... well that is if they watch the other fersions of fear factor. it is gross to watch but hey fear factor has been a success already on other countries.

Ewww! That is just gross. I can barely watch our fear factor here in the US. I mean if I had to do any of that stuff I would either pass out or puke. Those cockroaches that they use are just nasty and they had some kind of pinching thing last time.

Yeah, i've seen the eating challenge last night and it was totally gross'! But i guess, they are safe to eat.. the management wouldn't allow the contestants to do the challenge if it isn't safe.. but then again, if i were one of the fear factor contestants, i'd back out..=p

it was called fear factor because of its challenges. it shouldnt be called fear factor if the stunts they will be doing will be as easy as eating worms which is the usual. it was done and have the permission from a doctor. they wouldnt planned to give it as a stunt to the player if they are not sure or it will danger the players. and aside from that, that was just easy, if you research about some stunt that players in other countries did, it was more of gross. so, thats it, that was fear factor. it was one of the factor that should be considered if you want to stay on that show. eating grossy and exotic foods.
